Since 1981, The Reschini Group has been a leader in the development of consortiums. We view the consortium concept as a cooperative effort between employers in a common industry, for example, public schools, to provide healthcare coverage to employees in a cost-effective manner. The cornerstone of a consortium’s development is a common philosophy. The use of experience pools with homogeneous qualities, similar risk, and the “law of large numbers” are some of the components necessary for the development of a successful healthcare consortium.
Self-Funding
Designing and administering self-funded programs is one of our strengths. For the self-insured client, The Reschini Group has extensive experience in the use of Administrative Services Only (ASO) contracts.
An ASO funding arrangement is a form of self-insurance normally used in connection with group medical coverage. With an ASO arrangement, the carrier or third party administrator (TPA) handles the administrative tasks (e.g., enrollment, benefit eligibility, and subscriber utilization) and provides payment of claims through discounted reimbursement contracts. The client assumes all risk of adverse claim fluctuations and normally purchases some form of stop-loss insurance to protect the Plan from the cost of individual catastrophic claims (specific stop-loss) or unanticipated large increases in total claims costs (aggregate stop-loss).
Our available ASO services include all those previously mentioned in addition to funding and stop-loss recommendations based upon the group’s current financial model. We offer both specific and aggregate stop-loss coverage.
